This review is from: Pirates Carribean/ Cars 7\" LCD Picture FrameWe saw these on clearance at Target for $18 each so picked up 8 to give to family members at xmas. We were loading up 2GB SD cards with photos prior to sending them out so we unpackaged and tested them. The first few we tested would all fail after an hour or so of displaying pictures from a 2GB card. The SD cards are brand new and work fine in everything else and since the same issue happened with each unit we ended up taking them all back. It would have been a nice deal for the price to get everyone their own, but they just didn't work right. They are also downright ugly unless you turn the insert backwards....

This review is from: Pirates Carribean/ Cars 7\" LCD Picture FrameI got this for half the suggested retail, and I'm glad I didn't pay a penny more."High resolution" is only high in that 480 and 234 are high numbers for little kids to count to. And they (or folks who need glasses) are the only ones who would not see the poor image resolution.Since I got it cheap, and besides the very misleading "high resolution" it works as advertised, I give it a couple stars._If_ it lasts 18+ months maybe it could earn another star.If you want a frame that you will be viewing frequently from less than 5 feet (e.g. on a desk or fridge), look for something that advertises a minimum of 800x480....

This review is from: Pirates Carribean/ Cars 7\" LCD Picture FrameI, like many others, found this on sale last year at Target for a pretty good price. The screen size is not terribly big, but large enough so the images appear the size of 4x6 photos. The screen quality is just barely good enough at this resolution. If you look closely at the images you'll start to understand why a higher quality display is more desirable. Lines and edges of the photos are a little jaggy making the image slightly blurred. But, with the images just flipping through in the slide show mode you don't get enough time to really review the images. An annoying feature of the display is its aspect ratio. If you have photos that are not specifically formatted to it you end up with two options - stretch or not to stretch. If you stretch your photos so they fill up the entire display it'll make people look fat. But if you choose not to stretch your images you'll end up with black bars on the ends of the photos. This, along with the matte prompted me to create my own matting which provides a plesant image and covers the black bars of the display. Overall I like the frame for the price I paid and I would not fault it striclty on the above mentioned items. However, I purchased 3 of these frames, two Pirates of the Carribean and one Hanna Montana, and all three exibit the exact same behavior which leads me to not recomend this frame. After being on for several hours (perhaps 10 to 18 hours) the display shows a message saying that it cannot read from the memory card. All three of my frames show this problem. I've tried different brands of memory cards too and nothing seems to correct the problem. I would have thought that there could have been a problem with just one of them, but for all three to show the same problem leads me to believe this is why they were actually on discount at Target. To correct the problem the only solution is to pull the power cord. That's easy enough, but a rean nuisance. I wish the frame had audio and the ability to play avi files. But, for the price I'm happy with it other than the memory card problem. Overall I give this product 3 Stars....
