This review is from: Kodak Easyshare S730 Digital FrameI've been playing with this frame for about an hour now and I absolutely love it. I bought this frame at Best Buy as a gift for my mom. I decided to open it so I could preload it with pictures of her grandson. This is truly a plug and play digital frame, it doesn't get any easier than this. Here's what I love about this frame so far: - The picture quality is just amazing. The images display very crisp and clear. We have a digital frame that we bought a few years ago, and the picture quality is no where near this one. - Plug and Play = I stuck my SDHC card from my camera into the frame and it immediately started a slide show. I connected it to my computer, copied some pictures and music and loaded into the 1GB internal memory, and it started a slide show with music. I also inserted a usb stick with some videos that were taken on my camera, and it was able to play those immediately as well. - The frame can be unplugged and it will run for about an hour on battery power. - The Quick Touch Borders are extremely responsive and easy to use "now" (took some getting used to however, I kept touching the screen at first) - There are several viewing modes including a collage of 4 pictures or you can choose to display the slides with a calendar or clock. - Lots of different settings on how you want pictures displayed (duration, transition, resizing, shuffle, brightness, fit or fill) As of right now, the only "con" I can think of is that fingerprints show up easily on the shiny frame's surface (but they're easily cleaned with the pad that came with the frame). I will update this review as I get more familiar with this frame....

This review is from: Kodak Easyshare S730 Digital FrameI purchased the EasyShare S730 so that I could have a digital frame at work & be able to enjoy a wider variety photos. Also, since I rarely print photos anymore, I wanted a portable "album" to take to friends to show vacation & family pics. The user guide was easy to understand, & I programmed the frame's settings last night. However, I was very irritated this morning when I found the only setting that saved was the time/date function. Everything else reverted to the default.Managing photos through the EasyShare software on my PC was useless. You can only delete via the thumbnail view. Most of the time I like a larger view so that I can compare detail from multiple photos & pare down to the best one. Plus the software was too slow. I ended up switching to Microsoft Windows Viewer because it was much faster & more user friendly. My husband & I both think the resolution is fantastic. So the frame meets one of its objectives & will be a nice addition to my desk. However, I am not pleased with the viewing single picture option. If I want to view an album with a friend, I can program the frame to play in a slide show fashion. However, if we want to pause to view a single photo, the pause icon remains in the center of the photo & does not fade out. So your photo is basically ruined. If the rating was based on resolution & the product was to remain on a shelf only, it would be a 5. However, due to the problems with functionality, I think this is an OK product, but certainly nothing stellar....
