About 10 minutes after I received the player, as set up was ridiculously easy, I hit a red button on the remote as instructed, than 0, as the insert said, and the movie came right on! The sound is good and the video quality excellent. LG added a converter to this model but I don't understand why they did not give it a new model number, as it only confuses potential buyers BECAUSE THERE IS EXISTING INVENTORY ON THE MARKET USING THE SAME MODEL NUMBER WITHOUT THE CONVERTER, and there is a large price difference. It's worth the money if you need a REGION FREE DVD and Blu-Ray player with outstanding sound and video. It's hooked up to an LG 42LV5500 which has an LED screen which makes the video surreal compared to LCD without the light emitting diode. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And there is a great zoom option on the remote which increases the picture in increments if desired, something Samsung couldn't figure out how to do with the player this is replacing. LG rocks...
