This review is from: Kodak EasyShare P820 8-Inch Digital Picture FrameThis review is for the Kodak P820 digital photo frame.I spent about three hours trying to figure out exactly what the ideal resolution is for this photo frame. It is 16:9 aspect ratio which is great, however, other reviewers here and elsewhere say 800x480 is ideal which is inaccurate. That will produce less than ideal results. So, 16:9 is 1.78 aspect ratio which means that 854x480 is the best resolution for this frame. That resolution will fill the entire width/height without any stretching or cropping.I do not recommend trying anything larger than this, when the photos get too large they will take a lot longer to load and may even reduce the quality of the photos when displayed.I do not know if the included software makes this easy to figure out but I spent quite a bit of time working with Adobe Photoshop and created a cropping preset for 854x480 cuts which ended up working out for making beautifully displayed photos on the P820.My frame arrived with a couple stuck pixels which is disappointing but not show-stopping since they are not really noticeable while the frame is displaying a slideshow. The shuffle option is only mildly impressive. When it "shuffles" it "shuffles" exactly the same way every time you tell it to play a slideshow of all your photos. After watching it a couple times I knew what the next few photos were going to be in the sequence. To me, that is not a shuffle. The viewing angles and features are decent but I guess I expect more for something that costs almost about half as much as a 19" widescreen LCD monitor.I have an 8" GiiNii frame which performs well and looks just as good at less than half the cost of this frame.3/5 stars....

This review is from: Kodak EasyShare P820 8-Inch Digital Picture FrameI bought this for my folks but they had already purchased one themselves. We opted to keep and use this one. It's a nice design. I prefer to do my own photo editing so I chose to load my pictures onto a 2GB SDHC card myself instead of installing the packaged software and linking the unit to my computer. It took me seconds to load a couple of hundred pictures to the card via my usb card reader. The unit menu is pretty straight forward and easy to navigate. ProsJust load the memory card and you're pretty much up and running.Programmable on-off timer (also see cons)Easy to use touch frame navigation menu (smart idea)Two matting choices includedAdjustable brightness settings.Vivid color displayConsA on-board battery would be nice to maintain clock memoryOnly two choices for playback of pictures. By file name or by date of the file. The playback options limitation really is the only real negative here for me. Anyone who has a lot of pictures on their computer or disc is unlikely to have them all named in a manor that would benefit using this feature. A few more options would be nice. Like random for instance.Overall its a good unit....

This review is from: Kodak EasyShare P820 8-Inch Digital Picture FrameI love this Kodak frame. The 8" size is sooo much bigger than the 7" I bought my grandparents at Christmas time. The pictures are clear and beautiful, especially the ones I took of the butterflies at the San Diego Wild Animal Park in April. The touch features make it easy to set-up and change settings. I put in a 2gb card and have about 1500 pictures going through on a random slideshow all the time. When I want to put new pictures in I put another SD card in the side slot and use the touch border to copy them to the card in the top slot. I recommend this frame and even ordered another one as a gift for my mom....
