The Aura Soundstation is an excellent docking station and multimedia center. Its glossy black color and rounded shape are aesthetically pleasing and looks great in most rooms. It is light weight and easy to move and set up. The Soundstation supports many mediums in which to enjoy one's media, including docking an ipod or iphone, loading it onto the Soundstation directly by USB drive, auxiliary cable, internet radio, and FM radio. Ipod controls on the Soundstation are great. The picture quality of the 7 inch touchscreen is clear and vivid, and controls are responsive to touch. The Soundstation requires a slightly more firm touch than current high end touch screens as those in ipods and ipads, but is very responsive nonetheless. Control icons are clear and menus are easy to navigate. I could easily navigate through my playlists, albums, artists, and songs to find the music that I wanted. Ipod video and picture controls are similarly easy to navigate. Auxiliary and FM radio controls are very clear as well. The only aspect of the Soundstation that I have had some difficulty with is finding internet radio stations (using the wireless internet setting), although, I do not know any internet radio stations to begin with. Searching for a radio station by genre and setting favorites is simple...assuming you know what stations to look for. However, this is a small complaint considering the product in its entirety.I would DEFINITELY recommend the Aura Soundstation to anyone looking for a small, portable, easy to use ipod ready Soundstation....

My first review of this device got me raked over the coals, so I've decided to re-write it several weeks after the original review to make some adjustments. Maybe my feelings in retrospect will be a little more agreeable?I got this device hoping that it would have some similarities to the Altec Lansing inMotion MIX iMT800 Portable Digital Boom Box for iPhone and iPod. I ordered one of those and liked it a lot, and thought this product may be very similar, with a little bit more of a polished look for "in the home" and with a video screen. I was quite disappointed. The device took up a lot of space for the oval shape, and I felt like that space was wasted. The sound from the speakers was quite good, but not enough to counter-balance the frustrations with the touch screen and the OS.The touch screen started with some "crosshairs" on it. Being a computer/IT guy, I knew this was a calibration screen-- but it said nothing about what I should do, or what the cross-hairs meant. It meant to calibrate the screen. So I pressed the X's until it was calibrated to earn my way in to the menu system.Being used to modern iPhones and Androids, I realized the menu system was quite archaic-- and the touch screen wasn't very sensitive-- it was a last generation style resistive screen (requires a depression to press something, not like a capacitive screen like an iPhone or android). It didn't take me long to realize that, while the speakers sounded good, the shape of the device and how behind the menu & screen were were enough for me to conclude that this was not really a device that I wanted, should have ordered, and really was happy to give away. It was a Vine review, and here's to saying Vine reviews can be harsh. On to the next one......
