This review is from: Kodak EasyShare P730 Digital Picture FrameI bought the 7" pandigital frame 1st because it was less money and had many more reviews. I returned it because it was very difficult to do slide shows of different picture groupings. The kodak is much much better. The interface and kodac easy share software is supper easy to put together slide shows. I loaded pictures from vacations, and my children into slideshows an onto the frame in minutes there is no need for a memory card. You can save the slideshows onto a flash drive or the card for your camera, and then copy them from the card onto the frame. The frame's internal memory will hold upto 4000 pictures. So I really don't see the need for a seperate card. After using this frame and other kodaks I highly recommend them for ease of use. It is nice to have multiple slide shows set up so easy. I have the frame set to show pictures of my family and vacation one day. And the next day show my kids and a different vacation. Couldn't be easier, the pandigital was horribly difficult to set up slide shows like I have done with the kodak....
This review is from: Kodak EasyShare P730 Digital Picture FrameI bought the first one of these to replace one that had finally given out. My brother, who has Downs' Syndrome, dearly loves his picture frame, but is not able to "work" stuff like this. This one is great, because once it's set up, it can be powered off, accidentally or not, and when it is powered back on, it simply goes back to what it was doing before. We have it set up, his preference, with half the screen showing the calendar/clock, and the other showing his pics in a continual slideshow. Even half screen, the pictures are bright and clear and can be seen from across the room. I've recommended it to several people who have elderly relatives they send pictures to regularly. It is easy for them to set up, and then they update the pictures by mail, simply by sending a new, updated memory card, and receiving the other back in the mail for future updates. I keep a file on my computer of my brother's pictures, and periodically add new ones. He's very attached to all, so I don't take any out, the show just gets longer. I bought a second one for his room at the residential community he lives in part time, and it also works like a charm. Some folks might get all excited about technical details, but what matters to us is that the pictures look great, the frame is easy and works reliably. Since it's on most all of the time, I don't expect it to last forever, but I would go back to another Easy Start in a heartbeat. As a matter of fact, we have another brand at our summer home, and when it goes, as it will, I will purchase a 3rd Easy Start....
This review is from: Kodak EasyShare P730 Digital Picture FrameI purchased this frame to replace a Pandigital frame that died (the lamp burned out and was too expensive to replace). The Kodak frame was fairly easy to set up, although sometimes navigating the menus is not intuitive and the touch sensitive buttons react unpredictably. But set-up is not what this is all about, it about seeing the pictures! The display quality is very good, and the display options are complete - has programmable start-stop times, random display mode, etc.I should note that the random display order is hard to find in the menus, but its there. And then it seems that it establishes a random order but then continues to display in the same order. What I discovered is that it builds a random order, uses that order for some period of time (a day? I'm not sure) and then at some point it stops, re-sorts the order and starts displaying again in its new random order....
