This review is from: Hoya 72mm HMC UV Digital Slim Frame Multi-Coated Glass FilterI purchased this UV lens filter to replace a $10 UV filter that I had purchased about 6 months ago. I used to think an UV filter is an UV filter until I had compared this Hoya HMC filter with my old one. The difference is significant (even less glare with sharp edges on pictures than when I used the old UV filter) and in my opinion absolutely justify the extra money for the quality....

This is why I upgraded to the Nikkor 18-200. I purchased the Hoya filter for lens protection and based on the reviews of the product. Had it about 2 months now and seems to work great. I haven't been having the smudging problems some have complained about dye to the antiglare coating....
