I got this because I did a shoot in the daytime and I couldn't see my LCD Screen on my Canon 7D. I did some research for various viewfinders and I came across this. This thing is worth its weight in gold! It's super clean, the metal bracket it comes with is really strong and built well. It fit around my 3in lcd no problem. Before I got this product I rented a Zacuto Zfinder for the weekend. I compared the 2 and the Carry Speed was much clearer than the Zfinder and a fraction of the cost. The Zfinder came with a mount you had to screw in, the Carry Speed just pops on and off and comes with a lanyard so that made it easy to use. I recommend this product and I wonder how I went this long without it!...

I was also a bit doubtful about how it uses mini magnets that are inset around the finders large opening to attach to a metal frame you must affix to the LCD finder of your DSLR. My fears were realized in no less then the 1st time I took it into the field. The magnets soon became dislodged from the finder and remained stuck to the frame rendering the finder useless.Rather then enduring the bother of sending it back for a refund and loosing more time I bought some 5 minute clear plastic epoxy and re-glued the magnets back into place. So far they have remained intact.If another finder is within $20 more of the purchase price of this one I would heartily recommend that you spend the extra dollars and get a better manufactured product....

It seemed to focus about one quarter inch farther away for me. If your eyes can adjust (mine won't) then you will have an outstanding VF. The image is very large, bright and sharp (from what I saw holding it away a short distance). Its a shame it doesn't have focusing capability, otherwise I would say its the best I've seen. I own the Hoodman. Its okay, but the image doesn't appear large, and using rubber bands to hold it to the camera is not secure. It will continuously shift during use. The Zacuto is similar to what Carry Speed is offering (it does focus), but at a much higher cost. I was able to return it, and received a prompt refund. That says a lot about a company, so kudos to Carry Speed. I would definitely buy from them again....
