This review is from: Skyla FS80 Memoir 8-Inch Scanning Digital Photo FrameI bought this thinking finally an easy way to put my old photos in. After running through about 35 pictures, long scratches appeared in the images. I returned it and got a second one. I carefully wiped each photo off to ensure no grit or foreign substances got on it. After about the tenth photo, the picture got stuck midway in. I carefully and slowly pulled out the photo, causing only minor damage to the photo, but the scratches began to appear after that. The pictures in the frame are off color though if you transfer the pictures to your computer, the scans were fine (hence ought to reproduce fine as photos). You are limited to standard picture sizes though you can go as small as about three inches, but it will sometimes stretch the photo to fit a standard size and you have to rescan. It will not scan poloroids. The scanning is fast though you do have to slightly nudge the photo to get it started. I was impressed with the potential but right now, the scanner surface is apparently far too fragile. There is no correction for old and faded photos (as some photo scanners have). It only sits horizontally. I would recommend waiting for another version or two, waiting for improved color for the display screen and a more robust scanner surface. Photo correction would be a bonus. Eventually, I think this will be a wonderful product, but it needs time to mature....

This review is from: Skyla FS80 Memoir 8-Inch Scanning Digital Photo FrameI love this product. I bought it because i'm doing scrapbooks for my siblings of all of our old photos. Since the majority of them were taken in the 60's it was annoying to have to go to one of those kodak kiosks, to make prints, now i've scanned them into the frame put them on a memory card, and ordered them online. This product is quick easy, and all of those photos can be displayed on the frame too. What's not to love~~ The price was great too, at the camera store where I first saw it, they wanted 225.00 dollars....

This review is from: Skyla FS80 Memoir 8-Inch Scanning Digital Photo FrameI purchased this item as a Christmas gift for my father (actually, I first bought one from Target, then returned it and ordered it from Amazon because it was so much cheaper online). While trying to help him learn how to use the frame, we discovered a number of defects:- The scanner feed mechanism failed to properly feed any photo we tried. Often the photo would not feed at all; the ones that did would jam about halfway through and then skew at odd angles. Any photos that did make it all the way through the scanner would appear on the screen with only a small stripe of image down the side (and opposite from the orientation you might expect from the scanner feed jamming).- Dirt was also visible within the LCD frame with no way of cleaning or removing it.I'm returning this for a refund and buying a display-only digital photo frame instead....
