You have the choice of two included frames and mats - a black 'modern' looking frame with matching 'modern' black mat and a cherry 'traditional' frame with a cream colored mat. You can also use ANY 8x10 frame - it has adapters, and an adjustable arm on the back to accommodate thicker frames. The slide shows are simple - it just shows the photos in order. you'll need to make sure that the order of the pictures is pre-set by you - you need to make the photos go in alphabetical order from top to bottom - but this is relatively easy to do on the computer before uploading the pictures to the frame. You can use an SD card, a USB zip drive, or just the internal memory of the frame, which will be enough for a novice. Lots of options. Picture is good, very sharp, no haze, graininess or crosshatching like so many of these I've seen - in fact, when I see the photo scans I've got on here, I'm amazed at how much clearer they are than I remember from my computer screen at home - I think it's even higher resolution than the CRT! Amazing. The only two downsides I've found (other than the jealous coworkers) are the sort-of flimsy plastic bit on the support arm (it holds the arm in place) and the fact that the included USB cord is only about 6 inches long. Both are minor - VERY minor. Otherwise, this is an awesome frame, and good bang for the buck. Highly recommended....
