This review is from: PhotoVision 14\" Pocket One-Shot Digital Calibration Target with DVD, Collapsible Disc Exposure Aid for Digital CamerasThis "target" comes with an instructional DVD containing good material to learn how to use it both indoors and outdoors. The target can be used to both set a correct white balance as well as to set your exposure correctly (in particular, manually).Once you take your shots and you download them to your computer you can further adjust the white balance with tools like Photoshop by "eye dropping" the three colors (white, gray, black). This is especially true when shooting RAW. With other tools, you can "eye drop" the gray bar to get similar results. This target is very useful when you shoot indoors, where you have more control over the lighting. However, you can end up having to use the target many times when you use it outdoors....

This review is from: PhotoVision 14\" Pocket One-Shot Digital Calibration Target with DVD, Collapsible Disc Exposure Aid for Digital CamerasThere are a lot of people purchasing DSLR's now a days and expecting the camera will turn out amazing pictures automatically. Years ago I was one of them and realized there was more to it than just the camera. I spent hundreds of hours researching how to use the camera better in order to change from a "Snapshot" to a "Photograph". There are many forums and websites that have techniques, gadgets, and lenses that will help you improve. After years trying many different things, this is the tool that will help tremendously in getting much better exposure and color. I currently have 2 Canon bodies, 6 lenses-Primes and "L" zooms, 580EX ii Flash, expodisc, PhotoVision Target, and other accessories. Each has their own place, but for the money and greatest results, this target is WELL worth the money. The video that comes with it will not only help you understand how to use the target, but will also help you understand how to get better results. There are many other tools that you can try. They include gray cards, light meters, expodiscs, and other tools that work very well when used correctly. I own or have tried many of these. After many hours of research and working with each one, the PhotoVision target is now always in my bag and always gets used before every photo shoot. If you are just starting out and trying to improve your photography or maybe still researching all the options, make sure to put the PhotoVision Target on the list. I wish I would have found this years ago so I could have saved time, money, and also had thousands of better shots!...

This review is from: PhotoVision 14\" Pocket One-Shot Digital Calibration Target with DVD, Collapsible Disc Exposure Aid for Digital CamerasI use a light meter and this, sometimes the light meter is off but the calibration target allows me perfect exposure every time. I will not shoot without it....
