This review is from: Motorola LS1000Wb 10\" Digital Photo Frame with Wi-FiI was glad to see a digital photo frame that did Wifi and Picasa. Let me break down my thoughts objectively:Pros:- This is a pretty solidly built product. - Good picture quality in the LCD- Support for Wifi and PicasaCons:- Clunky UI.- Picasa support only for own albums, not albums others may have shared with you- Tons of missing features: - No way to do slideshows of selected folders in SD card - Cannot default to slideshow from Picasa on power on. - Calendar mode does not work with Picasa pictures - "Internet Radio" feature not clearly documented/supported. Does *not* work with PandoraOverall, this is a decent, relatively inexpensive photo frame with very basic Wifi/Picasa support. This product could do with a serious UI overhaul and feature redesign....
This review is from: Motorola LS1000Wb 10\" Digital Photo Frame with Wi-FiThe worst part of framechannel going away isn't the loss of the weather and calendar feeds--those were just nice to have. It's that the frame can no longer boot up to the pictures piped in through framechannel. Instead I get to see the stock photos that came with the frame until I take 30 seconds to access the menu options and make the frame download directly from Picassa--each day.Why Motorola didn't make picassa and flikr start-up options, the way they did with framechannel, I'll never know. But I bet if Motorola felt like it they could put together a firmware upgrade to fix that oversight. Until they do, steer clear of this compromised hardware....
This review is from: Motorola LS1000Wb 10\" Digital Photo Frame with Wi-FiThis is a nice digital frame that has internet access and can display pics from your Flickr and Picasa accounts. It also has a nice auto shutoff alarm that will turn on when you want and turn off when you want. Unfortunately the feature I liked best was it utilized FrameChannel which just announced today - 6/15/11 that they will be obsolete. It was great being able to see the news headlines, weather headlines, sports headlines, and also including Picasa and Flickr pics. I just received the frame about 5 months ago and now unfortunately, the best feature, in my opinion, is gone. : (Watch the price of this frame to drop and also become a clearance item. I bought mine around $90....
