I highly recommend these. They fold into a compact and manageable size for travel. The reversable zippered cover over a diffusion panel offers versatility and practicality when photographing. Three surfaces reflect light and offer different qualities of reflected light. The black panel works great to absorb light. This can also be used as a background for a small object. I am a photography student who bought this to add to my collection of light modifiers while taking a lighting class. I am glad I did! The quality of this set is just as good as some of the higher priced models....

I'll admit that right off. This also means that I didn't have terribly excited/high expectations about it. However, I was a little surprised at how good it looked when I took it out. It popped right out to full-size and I found no tears or missed areas, etc., in the seams. The zipper sticks EVER so slightly in one place - that might be fixable with a little graphite (rub a pencil on the sticky place), though. The cover pulls off and reverses for the other colors and it zips back together just as easily inside out.It springs open easily and also folds back together easily to go into its case (if you're someone who hasn't played with things like this before, when you start trying to fold the circle like burrito it will begin to curl - then you just stack the circles it is creating on top of themselves by tightening that ever so slightly, then slide it back into the case). I'm really excited. I'm rating it four stars because of the sticky zipper, and the fact that is a very necessary component in this, and if I can't get the sticky fixed or it is a symptom of a future problem, it will probably not last as long as I would hope. For the price, I would definitely recommend this over a more expensive model. After all, it's pretty much just various colored circles of fabric sewn together for you to reflect light on your subject - why spend four times as much?...
