This is my first digital picture frame, and I'm happy to report that I'm quite satisfied with it.It has a classic looking faux-wood frame (the faux wood is a deep brown that looks pretty nice), and an interchangeable inner matte frame border with provided second swappable border, and a screen that measures 7 3/4" along the diagonal. The frame has a nice heft to it, and is easy to grab and hold in one's hands.Mounted in the back is a rotatable kick stand which can be easily turned to allow display in either the landscape or portrait settings. Mounted on the rear side of the frame are various connectivity options, including USB, mini-USB (for PC connectivity, though cord is not included), and a multi-function SD/MMC/MS/MS Pro/MS Duo/xD slot. Mounted on the rear top of the frame are a scrolling wheel/selector kob, menu button, return button, and G-select key to switch between picture/clock mode. This frame does not come with a remote control, the remote control only being featured on the higher end 10" frame.I used a USB drive full of pictures, each picture being roughly 6 MB in size. The GiiNii has 128 MB of internal storage to allow transfer of images, but I elected to use my USB drive instead. I was pleased to find that upon plugging in the drive, access was quick and instantaneous. In fact, the GiiNii did not display any lag whatsoever even when loading these considerably sized images. The frame also automatically pans around pictures that have a width exceeding that of the display size. The display area is 800 x 600, and is crisp and bright enough to view distinctly from a distance. Viewing angles are also acceptable. It is pretty much just plug and play, and that's all I'm looking for in a digital frame. It also offers clock capabilities (a handy, functional idea) and purportedly an MP3 playing ability (though I did not test this feature out). Even after 6 hours of continuous image displaying, the frame was only mildly warm in the back. One caveat, is that the frame only comes with a 90 day limited warranty. Some other reviews of lesser models from the same manufacturer have complained of poor reliability, but build quality seems above average thus far....

I'm enjoying my GiiNii GH-8DNP so far. From unboxing to viewing pictures took less than 10 minutes. In the box is the frame, two different mats, the screen, manual, glass, and a power cable. Having two mats included was a nice touch. The first mat is all white, while the second is white with a brown trim. Putting all the pieces together was easy. The mat did not need to be adjusted. The technical set up is very easy. An interface guides you through the first couple steps - such as setting up the date and time. Then, you can begin to view your pictures. The slide show has several options for display time and transitioning between pictures. I just popped a card in from a recent vacation and set the pictures to be on the screen for 1 minute at a time.I find myself just staring at this picture frame. The colors are beautiful. I especially like the way the frame handles green and red.One feature I wish this frame had is the ability to stream images from a computer.Overall, I like this frame a lot. It's my first digital picture frame and it's a lot of fun to just watch....

Before digital cameras I would take maybe 36 photos at a time. They were expensive to develop so unless it was a special occasion, that would be it. But now with digital cameras and memory chips that can hold thousands of photos, I take hundreds at a time and usually end up with quite a few good ones that I want to keep. There are too many to print out because where would I store them all? I can keep them on my computer, but when I'm on the computer I'm usually doing other things so the photos just sit in files and I don't look at them very often. That's where this photo frame is such a great little device. I can set the thing on a shelf or table and have it on when my family or friends are in the room, and view thousands of photos during the day or evening. The features that are important to me in a digital photo frame are:1. A nice clear crisp resolution with natural looking colors. This frame has a 800x600 screen resolution which is very clear for this size of frame. 2. A 4:3 ratio. The widescreen frames either stretch most photos, making them look unnatural, or else you have to "zoom" the photo and you lose some of the edges. This frame shows them just as they were taken on my camera with no distortions. 3. I wanted a frame that was at least 8 inches in diameter, which the size of this one.4. The frame has to look nice. This frame has a beautiful hardwood frame, stained with a cherry wood finish that fits into just about any decor. It has a choice of two mats that you can easily change by turning two little knobs on th...
