I used it on 2 dives (so far as low as 40ft) and took a lot of video (included video of schools of fish) on the 1st dive. Also used for snorkeling and used stills and video as well. One of those dives was an underwater cavern, in addition, the strobe I used with the camera worked pretty well. Obviously, I had a chance to compare to a professional grade camera, and the difference in quality of pics and video is substantial, but, those cameras are at least $1,200 or more. I think, for my purpose, and the average user, this is a fine camera. One word of advice, use Lithium batteries. Alkaline batteries would run out after about 50 pics worth of testing. The lithium batteries never ran out, and that was after 2 dives (with stills & video), snorkeling with turtles (stills and video), and many land stills and video.I would recommend this camera.Dan S....
This review is from: Intova CP9 Compact Waterproof Digital CameraWe took the camera to Jamaica - fairly clear water, 60'-80' dives. Housing never leaked, pictures are fair quality for the price. As with any camera, a steady hand results in a better picture. We also used it as our daily camera and took it to the beach/windsurfing/horseback riding. The pictures turned out well and I didn't have to worry about getting my good camera wet. The housing took some abuse and has held up well. A good camera for the price....
This review is from: Intova CP9 Compact Waterproof Digital CameraBought this to take to Hawaii on vacation. We did four scuba dives, deepest was 80', and this camera held up great. It's not the best camera ever picture-wise (best pics come when you and your subject are fairly still) but I'm very satisfied with it. The housing was sturdy and we never had a problem with leakage. It goes through AAA batteries kind of fast though, so take extras. Each set of batteries made it through 1 1/2 dives, so next time I'll be changing batteries after each dive. Highly recommended though if you want to chronicle your diving but don't need professional-grade pics!...
